My London - A preview
hello.
It’s almost time for my new collection with Rowan Yarns to launch and I’m super excited to finally be able to share it with you all.
It’s been a long time since I wrote a blog post, and what better reason to write one now than to give you a couple of insights into ‘My London’ before the launch next week.
the concept.
The concept behind ‘My London’ is to take you on a tour of this city that I love, showing you the places that I go to hang out with a coffee and some knitting, and the architecture that inspires my design practice, all through the knits and the collection.
the book.
‘My London’ is more than just a knitting pattern book; it also shows you some of the architectural inspiration behind the pieces, shows you some of my design process through my mood boards and sketches and even includes a map of the City of London and where the buildings that inspired each design are located.
the yarns.
the collection uses two of Rowan’s core yarns that I hope you already know and love as much as I do; Rowan Alpaca Soft DK and Rowan Alpaca Classic. I chose them for their stitch definition, handle and beautiful colour palettes.
the collection.
‘My London’ is a collection of 10 accessory designs; hats, scarves, shawls, and wraps, as well as a poncho and a tabard; all the beautiful knitted accessories that we all love to knit, wear and wrap ourselves up in!
