Structure

  1. 1. the arrangement of and relations between the parts or elements of something complex.

    verb

  1. construct or arrange according to a plan; give a pattern or organization to.

An exploration of ‘structure’ as textured knitted fabrics, carefully constructed into a collection of six women’s garments.

Worked in beautifully soft yet structural Merino Ara, the collection features my signature knit-purl textured patterns, as well as deconstructed travelling cables, inspired by structural forms found in modern architecture.

Structures created by stacking shapes on top of each other, reinforced intersections that add depth and detail and three-dimensional deconstructed cables that mimic steel and wooden structures.

The Colour Palette.

I had the most fun developing 5 new shades of Merino Aria specifically for this collection.

These colours really lift the palette as a whole, they bring pops of bright colour as well as some great tonal shades, and range from pale and delicate to intensely deep and rich.

Silver Grey is the most beautiful, delicate pale grey, really pure and clean.

Soft Green is the kind of shade I return to time and time again, a lovely midpoint between blue and green, a kind of aqua that almost feels warm.

Deep Teal is the perfect tonal partner to Soft Green, a really intense saturated colour.

I like colours that are a bit ambiguous, and like Soft Green which is sort of blue but sort of green too, Mustard is kind of green yet kind of yellow, almost like a soft chartreuse, and I love it!

Soft Lilac is a new favourite colour of mine, a really bright and sweet pinky lilac that is just really fresh and fun.

I love the way the colours and the collection sit together as a whole, yet each colour and each garment is still able to really stand strong alone.

THE COLLECTION.

This collection is full of knitwear that makes a subtle statement; fabrics that stand out for their inherent construction of shapes and patterns, formed into garments that are striking yet wearable, in a carefully curated, bold colour palette.
